Pick your suburb with the move in mind. The Gold Coast runs along the coast from Coolangatta to Coomera, so most people choose a side. Northern suburbs like Coomera, Pimpama and Helensvale often have larger blocks and easier truck access. Beachside suburbs like Burleigh Heads and Palm Beach have steeper streets, tighter parking and older homes. Demand is high as the city keeps growing, so book your lease and your removalists early.
Choose your month. May to September is cooler and drier. From November to March, expect heat, humidity and afternoon storms. High-rise towers in Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach and Southport usually have a loading dock with set booking times, and the body corporate may need notice. Moves up into the hinterland, such as Tamborine Mountain or Currumbin Valley, mean steep, winding roads. Cross-coast trips mean planning around the Pacific Motorway and the Gold Coast Highway. Check the numbers. Housing costs have climbed, and many families now look to northern suburbs like Pimpama, Coomera and Ormeau for more space. Check current rent and sale data before you commit.
